Abstract:

Purpose: The purpose of this applied research is to study the effectiveness of gamification on corporate training.  Methodology: A gamified course was designed and implemented to train the location of Fire Hosing Cabinet for 24 employees of a firefighting maintenance company in Iran Mall shopping Center in Tehran. Using a quantitative quasi-experimental research plan (post-test only control group design) the participants of the study were randomly assigned to treatment (12) and control (12) groups and trained for a week.  Conclusion: The descriptive and interpretive result of the posttest analyses indicated the effectiveness of gamification of the training performed for the employees of the firefighting maintenance company in Iran Mall shopping Center in Tehran. Moreover, the descriptive result of Gamification Acceptance Questionnaire answered by the members of the experimental group after gamified training indicated that all the participants in the experimental group were satisfied with the gamified training course.

Abstract:

Background and Aim: Reading is not only a fundamental skill in learning but also an important channel in dealing with the outside world. However, hearing impairment affects linguistic growth, including speaking and reading; development of understanding; and academic achievement. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of phonological awareness training on improving phonological reading and awareness in primary school children with hearing impairment. Methods: The present study has a quasiexperi-mental design. The research was conducted as pretest, intervention and posttest. A total of 20 children with moderate to severe hearing loss were enrolled in the experimental group and 20 subjects in another group as the control. Rea-ding and dyslexia test (NEMA) was used to assess reading improvement and phonological awareness was assessed by the phonological awareness questionnaire. The data normality was checked by Kolmogorov-Smirnov test and non-parametric Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney U test were used to evaluate non-parametric data. Results: Based on the results, after teaching the phonological awareness strategies to the experimental group, their reading and phonological awareness scores increased significantly higher than the control group (p<0.05). Also the results show higher phonological awareness scores in girls. Conclusion: The results of this study showed that improvement of phonological awareness in children with hearing loss can improve and resolve their reading performance and problems.

Abstract:

Introduction: Due to the high level of vulnerability, motorcyclists are considered a priority for research and intervention. Therefore, this study aimed to improve the society’ s awareness and attitudes toward motorcycle traffic safety. Method: This study involved a randomized clinical trial conducted in 2016 among trauma patients and their caregivers in Shahid Rajaee hospital, Shiraz. Block randomization was used to divided the patients into study and control groups. Data collection was done using a researcher-made questionnaire called “ Awareness & Attitude associated with Motorcycle Traffic Safety” ; the questionnaire was found reliable with a Cronbach’ s alpha of 78%. We made use of a pairwise T-test to make our intergroup comparisons; in cases of non-normal data, a non-parametric alternative was employed. The one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to study the inter-variable relationships. Results: Participants included 276 patients, 138 in each group. Generally, 72. 7% of the population consisted of males and the rest were females. The participants had a mean age of 31. 38± 10. 46 years. Our pairwise T-test in the case group revealed a significant difference in attitudes and awareness of the subjects before and after the intervention (P<0. 001). The oneway ANOVA indicated the influence of marital status on the level of awareness after training. Furthermore, training had the highest impact on the age-group of 47-62 years old. Conclusion: Training would lead to increased awareness and improved attitudes in society toward motorcycle traffic safety, and would indirectly be an effective step toward improvement of traffic culture and reduction of road traffic accidents (RTA).

Abstract:

Introduction: Awareness during anesthesia is an unfavorable side effect for patients and about half of them worry about it. This side effect differs depending on different conditions of patient and anesthetic's drugs. According to special drug limitations in pregnant women we studied awareness rate among pregnant women during cesarean section with general anesthesia from 1384 to 1385 in shohada hospital. Material &methods: It was a cross sectional study during 1384-1385 and included all patients with more them 18 yrs old age and ASA class I which had cesarean section with classic general anesthesia and they didn't have any systemic problem during or after operation. 24 hrs after surgery they were interviewed by special questionnaire containing 10demographic questions and 14questions about symptoms during surgery and anesthesia. Our results were presented in diagrams and we used K2 test for statistical analysis. Results: None of the patients heard the new born cry during anesthesia. One of the most common things due to awareness during general anesthesia was hearing personal voices and instrument sounds (about 3%). The most common thing was inability to move during anesthesia (about 8%). Dreaming during cesarean section anesthesia was about 2.3%.Conclusion: If we considered all the mentioned things as awareness, our drug limitation use during cesarean section causes relative high prevalence of awareness during anesthesia.
